JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) is a established by Nepali trainees and students who obtained various trainings and academic education under JICA program in Japan. Primarily, it was established as Japan-Student & Trainee Alumni Club in 1973. The Club was re-organized as Nepal-Japan Studens & Trainees Club in 1982, after the opening of JICA Nepal Office in Kathmandu in 1978. On 5th November 1999, it was renamed as JAAN, to make homogeneity with the name of JICA Alumni Associations of various countries of the world.
Why We Are?
- To promote friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Nepal.
- To work as a catalyst for mutual exchange of knowledge and knowhow for fostering harmony, cultivating affinity and developing mutual understanding.
- To update and exchange the knowledge and skill acquired in Japan and work as the center of experts.
- To enhance the social fellowship and get together time and often among its members and diplomatic and development support organizations as well as citizens of Japan residing in Nepal.
- To conduct various educational. cultural, social, environmental and development activities to nurture and nourish the relation in people of both the countries.
- To get in touch with the institution of excellence of both the countries to sharpen the knowledge of its members.

II would like to extend my heartfelt greetings to all the members of the JICA Alumni Association of Nepal (JAAN) on the occasion of the Association's 37th Anniversary and also the publication of this annual issue of Milan Magazine.
